Woodland Trust - Chickerell Downs
« on: May 20, 2012, 09:43:36 AM »
Some 12 months ago I contacted the Woodland Trust, and asked if the path from the Putton Lane gateway to the steps could be improved. Jonathan Burgess, the Area Manager, advised me that there was limited funding within the charity for such works.

The Woodland Trust have been doing a lot of maintenance and improvements works at Chickerell Downs this year. One of the issues addressed was the muddy path from the bottom of the steps to the existing gravel path at the Putton Lane end.

Jon advises that there was some money which he grabbed and used to stone the path. This really has made a big difference and created a nice walk for the entire year.

So a massive thank you to Jon and the Woodland Trust for improving our local facilities.

That's excellent news. I haven't walked through there in a long time. I think I might have to have a nose :-)
